TORONTO (February 5, 2010) – After winning three straight games and seven of their last nine, the Gaels could not pull out a victory against Ryerson, losing 74-60.
After the first quarter, the Gaels had the score tied at 15-15, however could not grab control of the game. Ryerson had a three point at half and extending the lead to ten heading into the final frame. Angela Tilk (Welland, Ont.) led the Rams with 21 points and nine rebounds.
Brittany Moore (Hannon, Ont.) had 18 points and two steals to lead the Gaels in the losing cause.
Richelle Gaudet (Kingston, Ont.) and
Katie Guthrie (Orillia, Ont.) were the other Gaels in double figures. The Gaels were out-rebounded, and committed more turnovers than the Rams.
The Gaels continue a set of games in Toronto with a Saturday game against the University of Toronto Varsity Blues. The team concludes the season with a home series against the Ottawa Gee-Gees and Carleton Ravens on February 12th and 13th, respectively.
