Gaels host Windsor and Western on the hardcourt

| By:
KINGSTON, Ont. (November 26, 2010) - The Queen's Gaels are back on the basketball court in the ARC Main Gym this weekend as they host the Windsor Lancers and Western Mustangs.

The women's squad was last in action this past Sunday as they dropped a 64-62 score to the Lakehead Thunderwolves. Hannon, Ontario's Brittany Moore led all scorers in the game with 19 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome a strong Lakehead squad.

The Gaels will be looking to get back in the win column against two nationally ranked teams when they face the No. 1 Windsor Lancers on Friday and the No. 5 Western Mustangs on Saturday.

The men's team is also looking to bounce back from a tough defeat at the hands of Lakehead as they lost by a 78-47 margin. Dan Bannister of Newmarket, Ont., led the Gaels with 15 points and 6 rebounds to continue his exceptional season. Bannister put up a 28 point night only one day earlier against McMaster and has scored over 20 points in four of his last five games.

Bannister will be looking to lead the Gaels to victory this weekend as they also take on two top opponents. They will be playing No. 8 Windsor on Friday night before facing Western who dropped out of the CIS rankings this past week after starting the season in the sixth spot.

On Friday and Saturday the women will tip-off at 6:00 pm while the men will start their games at 8:00.
