KINGSTON, Ont. (November 20, 2011) – Playing without fourth years Daniel Rosenbaum, Joren Zeeman, and Niko Rukavina, the No. 10 ranked Gaels used their depth to beat the Guelph Gryphons 3-2 (21-25, 25-16, 25-26, 18-25, 15-10).

Bryan Fautley of Oakville, Ont., led the attack with 18 kills and a solo block, while Matthew Taylor of Toronto, had 10 kills. Third year Jackson Dakin of Courtenay, B.C., playing in place of setter Rosenbaum, had 46 set assists and four aces for the Gaels. Will Sidgwick of Toronto, led both teams with 14 digs.

Guelph kept themselves in the match after going down 2-1, thanks in part to Winston Rosser of Whitby, Ont., who finished with 23 kills and 27 total points. Riley McAllister of Whitby, Ont., led the Gryphons with 32 assists and 10 digs.

The win moves the No. 10 Gaels to 7-0 on the season, a win behind No. 6 Western for a tie on top the OUA standings. The currently undefeated teams play for the first time in league play on November 27 (1:00pm) in the ARC Main Gym. However, the Gaels continue on the road with a game versus McMaster (5-2) on November 21st in Hamilton.
