HAMILTON (November 19, 2010) – Despite another great game from guard
Dan Bannister of Newmarket, Ont., the Queen's Gaels (1-4) lost their third straight contest to the McMaster Marauders (2-3), dropping a 69-67 decision Friday night in Hamilton.
Bannister, who was named Queen's Athlete of the Week after averaging 24 points and eight rebounds last weekend, dropped 28 points for the Gaels. It is the fourth consecutive game that he has eclipsed the 20 point plateau.
Timothy Boyle of Belleville, Ont., was the next top performer for Queen's, finishing with nine points, six rebounds and five assists.
Cam Michaud of Grimsby, Ont., led the Marauders on the night with 17 points while Kenan Etale of Dundas, Ont., and Taylor Black of Stoney Creek, Ont., each added 12.
While the Gaels managed to outshoot the Marauders (48% versus 37% from the floor), the team struggled in maintaining possession, turning the ball over 30 times compared to the Marauders 19 turnovers.
Queen's will look to bounce back tomorrow night when they take on the Lakehead Thunderwolves. Tipoff is set for 8:00 pm.
