ST. CATHARINES, Ont. (November 13, 2010) – The Queen's Gaels women's hockey dropped their fourth straight decision in a 4-1 loss to the Brock Badgers.
Leigh Vanderveen of Niagara on the Lake, Ont. scored the game winner midway through the second period and added an empty netter to tally two goals in the game for the Badgers.
Brock jumped out to a two goal lead after the second period thanks to Vanderveen and Katie Howlett of Burlington, Ont. Goaltender Beth Clause of Hamilton, Ont., saved 21 shots leading the Badgers to the win.
Kelsey Thomson of Martintown, Ont. scored her sixth goal of the season at 3:08 of the third period to make the score 2-1. However, Kelly Walker of Brampton, Ont., notched an insurance goal before Vanderveen added the empty netter to close the scoring at 4-1.

Karissa Savage of Calgary took the loss facing 37 shots and making 34 saves.
The Gaels continue their road trip in Guelph in a Sunday afternoon (2:00pm) game against the Gryphons. The Gaels won 2-1 in their last meeting.
