Patriotes use third period outburst to knock off Gaels

KINGSTON, Ont. (November 12, 2010) – Thanks to a four-goal third period, the UQTR Patriotes overcame a second period deficit to defeat the Queen's Gaels 7-4 Friday night at the Kingston Memorial Centre.

The Patriotes got goals from seven different players in the game with Jean-Sebastien Breton of Pincourt, Que., scoring the game-winner midway through the third period. Pierre-Luc Lessard of Thetford-Mines, Que., was the Patriotes leading point getter in the game as he picked up three assists.

Queen's, who scored all four of their goals in the second period, got two each from Joey Derochie of Sudbury, Ont., and Kelly Jackson of Toronto. Robert Stellick of Mississagua, Ont., Scott Kenway of Calgary, and Brock Ouellet of Lindsay, Ont., also had two points on the night, each recording two assists.

Jean-Christophe Blanchard of Trois-Rivieres, Que., made 26 saves to pick up the win for the Patriotes while David Aime of Clandeboye, Man., made 37 saves in the loss for Queen's.

The Gaels will be back on the ice next Friday night when they travel to Guelph to take on the Gryphons in hopes of snapping their two game losing streak. Puck drop is set for 7:30 pm.
