KINGSTON, Ont. (October 30, 2010) -
Mel Dodd-Moher stopped 27 of 28 shots against and carried the Queen's Gaels to a 2-1 victory over the Guelph Gryphons.
The game was a stalemate for the first 30 minutes until
Alex Cieslowski (Oakville, Ont.) broke the deadlock 13 minutes into the second period. The goal would be the only one of the period and give the Gaels a 1-0 lead heading into the third.
Guelph tied up the game early in the final frame on a Jessice Zerafa (Mississauga, Ont.) goal. The game would remain deadlocked until ten minutes later when
Morgan McHaffie (Guelph, Ont.) gave the Gaels a one goal lead. McHaffie's marker would be the final tally scored in the game and ultimately be the difference.
Other point scorers for the Gaels included
Emily Harrison (Calgary) who had two assists, and
Kristin Smith (Toronto) who had one of her own.
The Gaels play their next game at home against the Brock Bagers on October 31. Puck drop at the Memorial Centre is set for 2:30 pm.
