Dodd-Moher claims shutout with OT win over UOIT

OSHAWA, Ont. (October 23, 2010) – The Gaels needed overtime to solve the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, grinding out a 1-0 win in women's hockey. Goaltender Mel Dodd-Moher recorded her second shutout in four games this season.

Kelsey Thomson of Martintown, Ont., scored at 2:21 in the overtime period to earn the win for the Gaels. The goal was Thomson's third of the season. Queen's put 40 shots on net in the four periods of play.

Dodd-Moher stopped all 22 shots she faced, and was not challenged in the overtime frame.

The Gaels play UOIT again on Sunday (October 24, 2010) in a back-to-back tilt.

The team returns to Kingston to play a weekend set against the Guelph Gryphons and Brock Badgers on
October 30th and 31st. Both games are at the Kingston Memorial Centre.
