Gaels take 2-0 win over Lakers

NORTH BAY, Ont. (October 23, 2010) – Mike Arnold of London, Ont., and Nathan Klemencic of Trenton, Ont., scored within a minute of each other to lift the Queen's Gaels to a 2-0 men's soccer victory over the Nipissing Lakers on Saturday afternoon.

Arnold scored the Gaels' first goal in the in the 86th minute of play. Klemencic followed just a minute later  at the 87th minute mark to gie Queen's a 2-0 lead.

Gaels' keeper, Maxfield Materne of Toronto, recorded a shut out in the win.

Arnold's goal was his ninth of the regular season and  he leads Queen's in scoring.

The win improves the Gaels record to 7-5-1 as they sit fourth in the OUA Eastern Division.  Queen's will conclude the regular season in Sudbury, Ont., tomorrow against the Laurentian Voyageurs.
