Gaels stumble against McGill in 7-1 loss

MONTREAL (October 23, 2010) – Brock Ouellet of Lindsay, Ont., scored Queen's loan goal in a 7-1 defeat at the hands of the McGill Redmen in men's hockey on Saturday.

The win was McGill's sixth of the season and they remain perfect atop the OUA East with 12 points. The Gaels are in fifth place with 3-2-1 record.

Ouellet's goal was his third of the season and came at 1:13 into the third period with the game sitting at 6-0 in favour of McGill. Captain Jonathan Lawrance of Stienbach, Man., and Scott Kenway of Calgary assisted on the goal.

McGill's Fancis Verreault-Paul of Mashteuiatsh, Que., provided most of McGill's offence scoring four times including the first two goals of the game. His second goal was the game winner coming at 10:40 of the first period.

Queen's Steele De Fazio of Georgetown, Ont., faced 24 shots in 46 minutes of play allowing five goals. David Aime of Clandeboye, Man., allowed two goals on seven shots in a relief of De Fazio

McGill's Morin Hubert of St-Georges-de-Beauce, QC allowed one goal on 17 shots.

Queen's will look to rebound after this loss hosting the Redmen next Friday at home in the comforts of the Kingston Memorial Centre.
