Gaels drop nailbiter to Windsor

| By:
WINDSOR, Ont. (October 17, 2010) - Mel Dodd-Moher (Stittsville, Ont.) stopped 29 of the 30 shots she faced but it wasn't enough as the No. 10 Queen's Gaels fell 1-0 to the Windsor Lancers.

The game was the second of two the Gaels played on the road this weekend, one day after they beat the Western Mustangs 3-1.

The lone goal of the game came off the stick of Windsor's Candace Kourounis who snuck one in on the power play just before the second period expired.

The Gaels couldn't find a way to put a puck behind Windsor's Jamier Tessier who stopped 41 shots from the Queen's offence. The Gaels played a strong game in all three zones, and only took two penalties on the afternoon as opposed to the five taken by the opposing Lancers.

The Gaels will be looking to get back into the win column next Saturday as they play another road game, this time in Oshawa against the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. Puck drop is set for 3:30 pm.
