KINGSTON, Ont. (January 23rd, 2010) – A night after losing to No. 6 McMaster in a five set heartbreak, the Gaels could not muster up what was needed to beat the Waterloo Warriors.
The Gaels dropped the first two games, before finally succumbing in game four.
Waterloo seemed to take the Gaels by surprise with strong net play and hard work on tough digs, taking the opening two games 25-21 and 25-23. A balanced attack saw five Warriors have at least nine points, while the difference can be seen in the 15-6 advantage held over the Gaels in blocks.
Despite the loss, the Gaels received a solid performance from #Joren Zeeman3 (Cambridge, Ont.). The towering outside had 20 kills and two stuff blocks on the night.
Daniel Rosenbaum (Hamilton, Ont.) had 44 assists and five digs in the loss.
The next game for the Gaels is on January 29th against the Ryerson Rams in Toronto. The Gaels then return home for game against the Western Mustangs and Windsor Lancers on February 5th and 6th, respectively.
