KINGSTON, Ont. (September 13, 2009) - The Gaels Men's Rugby team (2-0-0) showed no mercy at their home opener against the University of Toronto (0-2-0) winning by a final score of 77-3.
The game demonstrated the depth of this year's team as 11 different players recorded points for the Gaels. The forwards had tries by
Thomas Binczyk,
Shane Baddeley,
Henry McQueen,
Pat Richardson,
Peter Wilson and two by
Tim Richardson. Flanker
Ryan Kruyne added one try and six conversions.
The backs were just as hungry with tries from
Dan Moor,
Graeme Whyte,
Chris Barrett,
Scott Kyle and two by fullback
Mike Wong.
The most impressive try of the game was scored by
Tim Richardson with a 60 yard run into the end zone from a kick-off receive.
The men will be travelling to the University of Waterloo this Saturday the 19th to play the Waterloo Warriors.
