Toronto (February 7, 2009) – Going into the final stretch of the 2008-09 regular season the Queen's women's basketball team was handed their fourth straight loss, falling 60-57 to the York Lions on Saturday.
Brittany Moore of Hannon, Ont., led the Gaels in scoring with 11 points but fell out of the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) scoring lead to York's Laura Maccallum of Paris, Ont., who posted a game high 28 points. Moore sits just one point back of Maccllum with 367 points on the year with two games remaining.
Queen's battled back after opening the game trailing by three to score a game high 20 points in the second quarter but could not shut down York's offense that scored in double-digits in each of the four quarters.

Erin Skippon of Kelowna, B.C., and Kendra Walker-Roche of Brockville, Ont., all had nine points for the Gaels in the loss with Skippon leading the team in rebounds with 12.
The Gaels currently sit in the sixth and final playoff spot with two games remaining while York moves just four points back of the Gaels. York squares off against Toronto and Ryerson next weekend to finish the regular season while Queen's travels to the nation's capital for their final two games.
On Friday the Gaels take on the Carleton Ravens and finish the regular season against Ottawa. Both games are scheduled for 6:00pm.
