Ottawa (February 13, 2009) – Queen's women's basketball (7-14) were dealt their fifth straight loss on Friday losing 63-52 to the Carleton Ravens (13-8) in Ottawa. 
Despite losing the game, Queen's secured the last remaining playoff spot in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) east division by virtue of a 60-51 York Lions loss to the Toronto Varsity Blues. Queen's is in sixth place, four points ahead of York with just one game to play. 
Erin Skippon of Kelowna, B.C., was the Gaels' top player recording a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Her 15 points was a season high and the first time she led the Gaels in scoring this year. 
Queen's second-year guard 
Brittany Moore of Hannon, Ont. finished the game with 12 points. Moore is tied with York's Laura MacCallum of Parris, Ont. for the OUA scoring lead with 379. 
Carleton had three players in double digits with Tanya Perry of Barrie, Ont., and Jelic Ines of London, Ont., leading the way with 12 points each. Ashleigh Cleary of Kemptville, Ont. dropped 10 in the win. 
Queen's will face the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Saturday night in the finale of the 2008-09 regular season. The Gaels will either face Carleton or Ottawa in the opening round of the playoffs on Wednesday.
