WATERLOO Ont. (November 7, 2009) –
Joren Zeeman of Cambridge, Ont. had another strong night with 20 kills, two aces, and four digs in the Gaels 3-1 victory over the University of Waterloo Warriors in Waterloo on Saturday.
The game had a rocky start, with the Gaels falling 25-19 in the first set. The final three sets were a different story however, as the Gaels put in a great team effort to win the next two sets 25-21 and 25-22. The final set was close battle as the Warriors attempted to bring the game to a fifth set. The set went into extra points with a final score of 28-26.
Zeeman's 20 kills and four digs on the night brought his weekend total to 32 kills and six digs.
Sam Pedlow of Barrie, Ont. was another offensive force, with 10 kills, two blocks, one ace and six digs.
The Gaels current record is 5-1, putting them in second place in the OUA. The Gaels next game is against the Western Mustangs in London next Saturday.
