KINGSTON, Ont. (November 27, 2009) – Despite another strong effort from
Mitch Leger (Kingston, Ont.), the Gaels turned the game over to the Gryphons in an 83-57 loss.
The Gaels committed 21 turnovers, compared to only 10 by Guelph, and shot only 39% from the field, building a hole that they couldn't recover from. Guelph used a 24-11 run in the third quarter to put the game out of reach. The Gryphons saw solid shooting from Jay Mott and Jonathan Moscatelli, with 25 points and 20 points, respectively.
Leger had 20 points and 11 rebounds before fouling out in the middle of the fourth quarter fighting for a rebound. The Gaels next leading scorer was #Dan Bannister (Newmarket, Ont.) with nine points.
Queen's will look to end 2009 on a high note when they host the Brock Badgers tomorrow night at 8:00 pm. Following the holidays, the Gaels play at RMC on January 5th, before playing their final two games in Bartlett Gym on January 8th and 9th.
