WATERLOO Ont. (November 14, 2009) – Erin Skippon of Kelowna, B.C., had 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 steals in the Gaels 71-59 trouncing of the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks.

The game was a tight match for much of the first half, with the Gaels having only a 2 point lead at the end of two quarters of play. By the end of the third quarter their lead had been slimmed to one. The Gaels came out to finally put the game away in the fourth quarter as they outscored the Golden Hawks 22-11, givin them their second consecutive victory.

Skippon contributed both offensively with 22 points, and defensively with 8 defensive rebounds and 5 steals. Katie Guthrie of Orillia, Ont., continued her strong performance this season scoring 16 points and pulling down 4 rebounds. Brittany Moore of Hannon, Ont., also had 10 points on the afternoon, while Christine Wallace of North Gower, Ont., had 9 points, as well as leading the team with 4 assists.

The women's basketball team's next game is against the Windsor Lancers in Windsor next Friday.
