WATERLOO Ont. (November 13, 2009) – Katie Guthrie of Orilllia, Ont., had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in the Gaels' 59-51 victory over the Waterloo Warriors in Waterloo Friday evening.

The Gaels had a shaky start to the game, ending the first quarter 10 points behind with a score of 20-10. The Gaels were out to prove they were better than that in the second quarter, however, and outscored the Warriors 20 to five, ending the half with a 10 point lead. 

After taking the lead the Gaels never looked back and finished the game with a final score of 59-51.

The win was truly a team effort, with three members of the team scoring 12 points. Brittany Moore of Hannon, Ont., and Maddie Soye of Waterloo, Ont. were the other two players to contribute 12 points. Erin Skippon of Kelowna, B.C., was a presence in the low post all game and collected nine points and 13 rebounds.

The Gaels will look to win back-to-back games tomorrow as they face the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks in Waterloo Saturday evening.
