Women's Rugby earns home playoff date with win over Brock

KINGSTON, Ont. (October 9, 2009) - The Queen's Women's rugby team defeated the Brock Badgers on Saturday afternoon by a score of 23-10 at Kingston Field.

The victory gives the Gaels a 4-1 record on the season and earns them the right to host an OUA Quarter-final matchup next weekend.

Andrea Wadsworth of Toronto, Ont., led the team with two trys. She now sits second in the OUA in points scored this season.

Susan Heald of Burlington, Ont., recorded one try with a conversion by Michelle Gauer of Calgary, Alta.

With the Badgers only one try behind the Gaels, Queen's came out on top by capitalizing on Brocks errors and gaining 6 points through penalties kicks completed by Gauer.

The women prepare to host the first round of the OUA playoffs on October 17tth. Kick-off is set for 1:00 pm.
