HAMILTON, Ont. (October 31, 2009) – The Queen's Gaels women's rugby season ended with a 24-0 loss to the McMaster Marauders in the OUA bronze medal game in Hamilton, Ont.
Natasha Turner of Palo Alto, Calif., scored two tries for McMaster while Sara Van Hoof of Lindsay, Ont., and Maggie Cogger-Orr of Thornhill, Ont., tallied one try each. Allison Morris of Stoney Creek, Ont., recorded two converts for four points.
McMaster had the Gaels number this season with Queen's finishing second to the Maruaders in the Russell Division. Queen's had a 4-1 record earning 19 points while McMaster also had a 4-1 record but tallying 21 points. Head-to-head during the regular season the Gaels lost to McMaster 39-6 in early September at home.
Overall Queen's finish with a 5-3 record capturing wins against Trent, York, Toronto and Brock in the regular season. In mid-October, Queen's earned their first OUA quarter-final victory after four previous attempts knocking of Trent 25-19.

Andrea Wadsworth of Toronto was the leading scorer in the Russell Division recording 10 tries and 50 points over the course of the regular season. Wadsworth was one of four Gaels earning all-star recognition this season along with
Susan Heald of Burlington, Ont., and Ottawa natives
Jocelyn Poirier and
Karlye Wong. For Poirier, a fourth year veteran, this was her third appearance on an OUA all-star team.
