GUELPH, Ont. (October 24, 2009) – The Queen's Women's rugby team, on the verge of their first-ever CIS Championship berth, could not get by the defending OUA Championships, the Guelph Gryphons, on Saturday afternoon.
The Gryphons proved to be too much for the Gaels to overcome as they fell by a score of 56-3.
Michelle Gauer of Calgary, Alta., scored the Gaels only points in the game off a penalty goal.
Despite the loss, the Gaels still have something to play for this season as they will travel to McMaster next weekend in hopes of capturing an OUA bronze medal. Stay tuned to www.gogaelsgo.com for game information.
