KINGSTON, Ont. (October 18, 2009) – The No. 6 Queen's Gaels upset the No. 3 Ottawa Gee Gees 2-0 in a battle for first place in women's soccer.
Queen's (11-1-2) holds down top position with 35 points and are just two points ahead of the University of Toronto (10-1-3) who are in second place with 33 points. Ottawa (10-2-2) holds third place with 32 points.

Angela Sullivanof Scarborough, Ont., netted the first goal in the 16th minute on a blazing shot from 35 yards out beating Ottawa keeper Melissa Peasant of Gatineau, Que. Kingston's
Renee MacLellan doubled the score in the 35th minute of the first half winning the battle among two Ottawa defenders squeezing the ball past the keeper.
Elena Corry of Hamilton, Ont. recorded the shutout against the Gee Gees.
This marks the second win against top-ranked Ottawa this season. Queen's edged Ottawa 1-0 at Matt Anthony Field on September 30. At the time, Queen's was un-ranked.
The Gaels have two remaining games in the regular season and host the Royal Military College on Wednesday October 21 at 3:00pm. The final game of the season is set for Saturday, October 24 where they battle Carleton in Ottawa.
