Gaels shutout Voyageurs 2-0

SUDBURY, Ont. (October 10, 2009) – Queen's Sean Martin-Courtright of Calgary earned a shutout to ensure a 2-0 win over the Laurentian Voyageurs on Saturday in men's OUA soccer action.

It took most of the first half for the Gaels to capitalize on their offensive chances with Justin Vemeer of Grimsby Ont. finding an opportunity and scoring in the final minute of the half. In the second, Queen's scored in the opening minutes with Gilbert Coyle of Toronto scoring.

The win moves Queen's into a second place tie with Laurentian. The Gaels own a 5-1-4 record with 19 points – both Queen's and Laurentian trail Toronto by seven points.

Next up for Queen's is a rescheduled match against Trent University in Peterborough, Ont. on Wednesday, October 14.
