Brandon Perry of Timmins, Ont.opened the scoring for the Gaels men's hockey, but penatly troubles were the difference as the Queen's fell to Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks 6-1 on Saturday.
Queen`s were
assessed 13 penatlies throughout the game which transleted into four power play goals for the Golden Hawks.
Luke Girard of Mississauga, Ont., produced two of the four powerplay goals for Laurier, while adding an assist on one of two goals by teammate Colin Williams of Orangeville, Ont.
Rookie netminder
Mackenzie Ball of Shannonville, Ont. was in net for the Gaels stopping 31 saves in loss. Laurier outshot the Gaels 37-21.
Queen`s has now lost their last five games but remain in second of the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Mid- East divison. The Gaels are two points ahead of their cross-town rivals the Royal Miltary College and will be in action against the Paladins next Friday in the Constantine Arena, Kingston,Ont.
