Gaels fall 2-1 to the Ravens 2-1

Kingston, Ont. (September 24, 2008) – An early goal by striker Mike Arnold of London, Ont. gave the Gaels hope but a strong Carleton team rebounded to defeat the Queen's 2-1.

Arnold who scored on a rebound in the 13th minute gave the Gaels life to end the Ravens regular season undefeated streak which has now moved to 32 games.

Matthew D'Angleo of Ottawa scored the first of his two goals to tie the game in the 29th minute for the Ravens. D'Angleo added his second goal in the 47th minute. Carleton then played positional soccer for the remainder of the game keeping Queen's offensive pressure at bay.

The Gaels are tied for fourth place with Trent in the OUA East Division. With Homecoming set for this weekend, the Gaels will break and compete against Alumni on Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm. Queen's returns to regular season action against Royal Military College on Saturday, October 4 when the Gaels will visit RMC in a rematch of their September 17 victory over the Paladins.
