Gaels still winless on the road

| By:
Sudbury, Ont. (September 14, 2008) – Even the weather did not favour the Gaels this weekend as the men's soccer dropped their second straight game. The Gaels lost 2-1 to the Laurentian Voyageurs.

Queen's striker Patrick Zanetti of Carp, Ont. started the pressure early and sent in a header just four minutes into the contest.  Soon after Laurentian took control in the first half with Johnny Maurizio of Hamilton scoring to tie the game in the 44th minute.

Laurentian continued its control in the second half and scored in the 53 minute when Andrew Piccenetti of Sudbury scored a diving header to give the Voyageurs the win.

Weather was a factor in this match-up as the remnants of the much weakened hurricane Ike moved through Ontario on Sunday.

The Gaels return home to challenge Nipissing University in a rematch of yesterday's contest which ended in a 1-1 draw. Queen's record sits at 1-2-1 with next week's game against Nipissing schedule for Saturday at 12:00pm.
