Kingston, Ont. (November 29, 2009) - It was a goaltender's duel at the Kingston Memorial Centre but it was Gaels netminder Melissa John of Unionville, Ont. winning the battle as the Gaels defeat the Western Mustangs 1-0.

John has now gone 161 minute without surrendering a goal and posted her second consecutive shutout. She would stop all 19 shots she faced, while Becky Conroy of Pembroke, Ont. was the game's only scorer giving the Gaels the win. Conroy leads the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) with 10 goals on the season.

Western goaltender Lindsey Martin of London, Ont. would walk away with the loss despite a strong showing saving 28 of the 29 shots she faced.

Queen's record moves to 8-5-0-1 on the season and they return to the ice tomorrow afternoon to take on the Windsor Lancers. Queen's sits in fourth place of the OUA with 17 points while the Lancers are in sixth place with 12 points. The Gaels are just a single point behind Toronto.
