Brampton, Ont. (November, 29, 2008) – Queen's captured a silver medal at the 2008 PCA Canadian University Cheerleading Championships held Saturday at the Poweraide Centre in Brampton, Ont.
Western took the overall title reclaiming the crown which they have previously held for 22 seasons prior to the Gaels defeating the Mustangs last season. Queen's is the only other team to have claimed the national title.
The Gaels were dealt a critical blow just minutes before their opening routine when veteran leader Jackie Gillberry of Burlington, Ont. sustained an injury. Gillberry's injury was significant as she was the main component of several portions of Queen's routine.
