Queen’s dominates over Waterloo

Gray has 16 kills and records 17 points in Gaels win
Kingston, Ont. (November 23, 2008) – Natalie Gray of Oshawa, Ont. led the way for the Gaels as she recorded 17 points in a 3-0 victory over the Waterloo Warriors on Sunday afternoon.

Queen's would open the afternoon with a decisive 25-14 victory and kept the pressure on throughout the final two sets. Gray would lead the team in kills with 16 while Lorna Button of Newcastle, Ont. and Colleen Ogilvie of Calgary each had 10 respectfully.

Waterloo would play tough through the second and third sets, keeping it close as they would have a team total of 118 digs with Laura Klein of Kitchener, Ont. leading the way with 32. Queen's had too much power in the final frames defeating the Warriors 25-23 and 25-20.

Setting up the key kills was Kristin Collins of Whitby, Ont. who had a game high 41 assist for the Gaels. Button would also register four of the team's seven service aces.

With the win today and the 3-0 victory over Wilfrid Laurier yesterday the Gaels move to 5-4 on the season and are on a three game winning streak. Queen's will travel to Ottawa next Friday, November 28 to take on the Ottawa Gee-Gees. Scheduled game time is 7:00pm.
