DeMeza lifts Gaels over Waterloo

DeMeza hits 11 kills and 14 points in Gaels victory
Kingston, Ont. (November 23, 2008) – Jeff DeMeza of Calgary helped the Gaels extend their winning streak to four games by registering 14 points in a 3-0 victory over the Waterloo Warriors.

DeMeza would record 11 kills on 23 attempts to go along with two defensive digs in the win over Waterloo on Sunday in Bartlett Gymnasium on campus at Queen's University.

Queen's would take the first set  easily 25-19 but a determined Warriors team would battle in the second set pushing the Gaels.  Queen's needed to rally down 22-20 to take the second set 25-23.   

Warriors right side Cameron Dunning of Calgary led his team with 15 points and 11 kills while teammate Tyler Vivian of Mitchell, Ont. had 11 digs.

Queen's outside hitters Niko Rukavina of Mississauga, Ont., and Joren Zeeman of Cambridge, Ont.  scored 12 points each combining for 17 kills and four service aces. Dan Rosenbaum of Hamilton had 33 assists and nine digs. 

The win extended Queen's winning streak to four games and they have not given up a single set in their last three victories.  Queen's will have a quick turn-a-round as they play their cross town rivals Royal Military College (RMC) Wednesday, November 26 at  RMC. Game time is scheduled for 7:30pm.
