Kingston, Ont. (October 25, 2008) - It took all five sets to find out who would take the victory as Queen's and Western had a classic battle on the court. Western would pull off the comeback and defeat the Gaels three sets to two.
Joren Zeeman of Cambridge, Ont. was the star for the Gaels recording 23 kills and six digs with four service aces for a 27 point night. Zeeman's most memorable play would come in the fourth set with the game tied, he would climb up into the third row of the stands to hit the ball back into the play and keep the rally going. Queen's would eventually win that rally but lose the set.
Queen's started of shaky for the second night in a row losing the first set 29-27 but taking control for the next two sets winning them 25-23, and 25-21.
Queen's look to have the game in hand but could not finish off the Mustangs. Western would come back taking the fourth set 26-24 and force a fifth.
Western looked out of place for the beginning falling behind 13-9 but again coming back once again taking the game 16-14.
Queen's will now travel to Toronto to face the Varsity Blues next Friday night at 8:00pm
