Kingston, Ont. (October 19, 2008) - What looked like an upset in the making Queen's let another win slip away in the final minutes of play as they tied Toronto 1-1.
Queen's were in tough against the second place Varsity Blues as they looked to position themselves higher in the play- off picture.
Justin Vermeer of Grimsby, Ont. opened the scoring for the Gaels as took the throw in from
Andrew Nador of Kingston, Ont. and slipped it passed Luciano Lombardi of Scarborough, Ont.
Toronto and Queen's would battle hard for the remainder of the game as each team were able to get scoring chances.
Toronto's Neil D'silva of Mississauga, Ont. played spoiler as he tied the game scored with just four minutes remaining.
As a result of the tie today and the victory by Ryerson over RMC the Gaels finished in sixth place with a record of 4-6-4 and will travel to Laurentian who finished in third place with a record of 6-5-3. The game is scheduled for Wednesday, October 22nd at 2:00pm.
