Chamberlain shines with two goals

Kelli Chamberlain scores twice in 2-1 victory
Kingston, Ont. ( October 18, 2008) - Queen's got an offensive spark in Kelli Chamberlain of North Bay, Ont. Saturday afternoon as the Gaels defeated the Ryerson Rams 2-1.

Queen's and Ryerson met last weekend and tied 0-0 and the Gaels felt they let one slip away. This weekend the Gaels were determined not to let that happen twice.

The game started off well for Queen's getting chance after chance with great offensive pressure. Sarah Buckham of Burlington, Ont. was awarded a penalty shot after she was hauled down in the penalty box.

Buckham however could not capitalize as she was stopped by Rams goaltender Misha Mairc of Toronto. Ryerson then capitalized on the momentum changer and Tessa Dimitrakopoulos of Richmond Hill, Ont. scored just minutes after.

Queen's went into the half down 1-0 and looked to use the break to regroup. Queen's came out with the fire they had at the beginning of the game and Chamberlain scored her first goal just two minutes in.
She would then get another break and put her second goal away in the 70th minute to give the Gaels the victory.

Qeen's now moves to 8-4-1 on the season and will play their last regular season game tomorrow at Richardson Stadium against the first place Toronto Varisty Blues. Game time is scheduled for 3:15pm.
