Gaels edge Toronto with four goal rally

Toronto, Ont. ( October 18,2008)- Kelsey Thomson of Martintown, Ont. scored her team leading fourth and game winning goal as the Gaels edge the divison leading Toronto Varsity Blues 4-3.

With the Gaels being down 2-0 after the first period Toronto looked to put it out of reach as Annie Del Guidice of Hamilton, Ont. just 30 seconds into the second frame. Queen's would respond quickly as Elizabeth Kench of Gananoque, Ont. scored just 27 seconds later.

That goal would be the start of the rally for Queen's as Megan McNutt of Ottawa added her first of the year while Kristin Smith of Toronto would tie the game on the powerplay early in the third.
Thomson would get the winning goal at the 10:31 mark of the third on the powerplay. Queen's went 2/7 on the powerplay for the game.

Queen's hands Toronto their first loss of the season and improves their own record to 2-1-0. The Gaels will be travelling to York tommorrow afternoon and will be back in Kingston next Saturday to take on Laurier in their home opener. For tickets pleases call 613. 533.2500
