Elizabeth Kench of Gananoque, Ont., played an integral part in the Gaels women’s hockey team picking up four points this weekend against Guelph and Brock. In Saturday’s game against the Gryphons, Kench had a goal and an assist in the Gaels 4-1 victory. On Sunday, Kench played hero as she led the Gaels back from a 2-0 first period deficit. The fourth year history major scored a pair of goals, including the game tying tally with under three minutes to play. Kench then scored in the shootout to clinch the Gaels 12th win of the season. Her four point weekend also vaulted her into a three way tied for third place in the OUA scoring race.
