Martha Carruthers of Markham, Ont. skated away with three medals at the 2008-09 Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Figure skating Championship on Wednesday and Thursday. Carruthers captured individual silver in the Gold Ladies category, along with a gold medal in the Pairs Four category with teammates Kaitlin Finetry (Uxbridge, Ont.), Sarah Farrow (Brampton, Ont.) and Cathryn Schroeder (Kitchener, Ont). She would team with Schroeder again, taking bronze in the Senior Similar Pairs. Carruthers also received an OUA all-star nomination as she helped guide the Gaels to a second place finish overall.
