Mel Dodd-Moher of Stittsville, Ont., was nearly unbeatable between the pipes for Queen’s as the No. 10 Gaels won their first provincial title in 32 years by sweeping the No. 8 Guelph Gryphons in the OUA Championship series. The second year biology major opened the series by back-stopping the Gaels to an historic Game 1 win over the Gryphons on the road. Dodd-Moher stopped 66 of the 67 shots she faced as Queen’s won the longest collegiate hockey game in history 2-1 in six overtimes. The sophomore netminder proceeded to turn aside 25 shots in Game 2 as the Gaels won 3-2 in overtime to capture their first OUA Championship since 1978-79. Overall for the series, Dodd-Moher posted a 0.76GAA and a 0.968SV%.
