Michael Nishiyama of Edmonton, picked up a silver medal as well as two other top five finishes at the OUA Track & Field Championships this weekend. The fourth year civil engineering student was a member of the Gaels 4x800m relay team that finished in a time of seven minutes and 43.26 seconds to earn one of the Gaels two medals at the championships. Nishiyama was also a member of the 4x400m relay team that just missed out on the podium, finishing fourth, only .06 seconds behind McMaster. He capped off his weekend with a fifth place finish in the men’s 600m.
