Riley Filion of Alexandria, Ont., scored the championship-winning goal as the Queen’s Gaels women’s soccer team captured their second national championship with a 1-0 extra time win over the Laurier Golden Hawks. The second year kinesiology major, who’s shot from 30 yards out in the second half of extra time proved to be the difference in the match, was also named a championship all-star for her performance over the Gaels three victories. It is the second consecutive season that Filion has been named a CIS Championship All-Star.
