KINGSTON, Ont. (August 31, 2017) – The Gaels (0-1) travel to Ottawa on Monday for a 2 pm match up with the No. 9 Gee-Gees (1-0). The game can be seen live on

Following a last minute 22-17 loss to Carleton in their season opener, the Gaels will look to bounce back and get their first win of the season on the road in Ottawa.
Last weekend's home opener against the Carleton Ravens saw a career-high 139 receiving yards and two touchdowns from
Matteo Del Brocco – a performance that awarded him OUA Offensive Football Player of the Week. Quarterback
Nate Hobbs (Mississauga, Ont.) threw for 306 yards, while veteran linebacker
Nelkas Kwemo picked up nine total tackles.
Despite the Gaels strong fourth quarter drive, Carleton was able to get a field goal and force the Gaels offence deep in their own end. In the final minute, Carleton drove for a touchdown to overcome Queen's 22-17 and steal a victory from the Gaels.
Last week, Ottawa opened their regular season at Guelph and came away with a 24-21 victory over the Gryphons in a double overtime thriller. After fifth-year quarterback Victor Twynstra was injured in the second quarter of his first career start, 19-year-old freshman quarterback Alex Lavric was tossed into action for the Gee-Gees. Lavric finished 16-22 with 132 yards in his debut.
Queen's will surely be out for redemption against No. 9 Gee-Gees, who robbed the tricolour of a playoff spot last season.
The last time these two teams met, the Gaels fell to Ottawa in overtime on the last day of the regular season at Richardson Stadium in cold, wet, and windy conditions. The Gee-Gees took their only lead of the day on the last play of the game to win 42-41.
