Halladay Nets Two Goals in 3-0 Win Over Varsity Blues

Kingston Ont. (October 29, 2016) – The Queen's Gaels (3-0-2-0) defeated the Toronto Varsity Blues (2-0-3-0) 3-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Memorial Centre in OUA women's hockey action.
 
GAME FLOW
The first period saw consistent back and forth action from both sides. Both teams had an opportunity on the power-play, but the game remained scoreless after 20 minutes of play.
 
In the second period, Addi Halladay (North Augusta, Ont.) scored back-to-back goals to give the Gaels a 2-0 lead. The first of Halladay's goals was on a quick snapshot from just outside the slot. Clare McKellar (London, Ont.) and Jessica Wakefield (Lucan, Ont.) picked up assists on the play. Nearing the end of the period, Halladay scored her second goal of the game, after making a quick toe-drag move and beating the Blues goaltender low glove side. Wakefield and Mackenzie Stamper (Oakville, Ont.) assisted on the goal.
 
The two teams had a number of chances to score in the third. At the end of the period, Megan Farrell (Midhurst, Ont.) picked up an empty net goal, after the Blues pulled goaltender Valencia Yordanov. Emily Jukosky (Stirling, Ont.) and Micaela Smith (Cobourg, Ont.) assisted on the goal.
 
Gaels Goaltender Stephanie Pascal (Val Caron, Ont.) made 27 saves throughout the contest, shutting out the Blues.
