BURLINGTON, Ont. - With the best basketball players in the world set to descend upon Toronto next month for the NBA All-Star Game, Ontario University Athletics (OUA) men's and women's basketball will also take to Centre Court as part of the weekend festivities.
On Saturday, Feb. 13 2016, the five-time defending CIS women's basketball champion Windsor Lancers will take on the OUA East division leading No. 10 ranked Queen's Gaels, while on Sunday, the No. 5 ranked Ryerson Rams men's basketball team will tip off against the crosstown rival University of Toronto Varsity Blues.
Both games will take place at the Enercare Centre in Toronto, Ont. and are scheduled to tipoff at approximately 4:30 p.m.
Tickets for the NBA All-Star Centre Court events will go on sale tomorrow, Tuesday January 12, 2016, at 10:00am EST at NBAtickets.com. Those interested in attending the game are encouraged to arrive early as seating is limited.Â
"Basketball fans from across the world will be in Toronto to take part in the NBA All-Star Game festivities and this will be an unbelievable opportunity to showcase OUA basketball," said Gord Grace, OUA CEO.Â
"The thrill those young men and women will feel when they step out onto the court will be a memory they will have for the rest of their lives."
The Ryerson and Toronto game was originally scheduled for Nov. 28 and was rescheduled earlier this season to be included in the event.
In addition to the OUA men's and women's basketball games, Centre Court will also feature the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game on Friday night, as well as Saturday's NBA All-Star Practice.
