| By:
KINGSTON, Ont. (September 17, 2015) - Queen's women's basketball head coach Dave Wilson is pleased to announce that Bridget Mulholland (Kingston, Ont.) has signed her letter of intent to play basketball at Queen's for the 2016-17 season.

"We couldn't be more thrilled to have a player of Bridget's character and calibre join our basketball family," said Gaels head coach Wilson.  "As a highly recruited athlete, both north and south of the border, Bridget will not only make an immediate impact on our program, she will make an immediate impact in the OUA and the CIS.  She separates herself from other gifted athletes with her work ethic, determination, and her unrelenting pursuit of excellence.  As our basketball program continues its climb towards a National Championship, Bridget will not only be an integral component, she will be a catalyst that accelerates that climb."

Mulholland, a 5-10 guard who is going into grade 12 at Regiopolis-Notre Dame CHS in Kingston, she will join the Gaels for her first year at Queen's in 2016-17 with her sights set on joining the Kinesiology program. Her accomplishments span provincial, national and international levels having been a three time KASSA champion, a U17 provincial captain and gold medalist at nationals in Edmonton this summer and was selected to Canadian team at the FIBA World 3on3 Championship to name a few.

"I chose Queens because of the special opportunity it can provide me that is unmatched by anywhere else," said Mulholland on joining the Gaels. "The chance to be surrounded every day by people who will push me to my limits, people who support me and my dreams, and people who will fight with me to achieve our goals is priceless and inspires me to work my hardest. I want to be a part of greatness, and I know Queens is where I'm going to find it."

See below for a detailed look at what Mulholland has accomplished in her career thus far.

Queen's will once again be hosting their annual Invitational Tournament October 16-18 welcoming UQAM, Memorial and Carleton to the ARC. The Gaels begin their regular season when they welcome the York Lions to Kingston on Saturday November 7.
