Jenny Wright recorded a game-high 19 points, and the Queen's Gaels women's basketball team ended the first half of their season with a convincing 84-69 victory over the Waterloo Warriors.

GAME FLOWOne evening after reaching the 1,000 point milestone, Wright continued adding to her career total, shooting 7-of-15 from the field and 3-of-7 from beyond the arc in helping the Gaels to another road victory. The nursing major now sits at 1,023 points for her career, and has fellow Kingston native
Liz Boag in her sights. Boag, who completed her eligibility last year, totalled 1,055 points to sit second all-time in Gaels history, while Brittany Moore's 1,652 points ranks her first at Queen's and third all-time in the OUA.

Abby Dixon (North Vancouver, B.C.) added 16 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double, and
Emily Hazlett (Fredericton, N.B.) and
Marianne Alarie (Sudbury, Ont.) tallied 13 points each in helping the Gaels to an impressive 6-1 record at the holiday break. Emily Wilk tallied a team-best 14 points for Waterloo, who remains winless in conference play.

The Gaels shot an impressive 45.9% from the floor on Saturday, compared to 39.4% from the Warriors, and also dominated the glass game for the second-straight night, outrebounding the hosts 47-31. The women tallied 22 second-chance points off 17 offensive boards, and utilized an offensively potent first and third quarters where they totalled 55 points to take a 24-point lead and put the game out of reach before it reached the final period of play.
