Gaels drop road contest to McMaster

HAMILTON, Ont. (October 23, 2015)- The Queen's Gaels women's basketball team dropped its second game in as many days on Friday afternoon, losing to the McMaster Marauders 79-54.

For the second-straight contest, sophomore guard Marianne Alarie led the Gaels in scoring, netting 18 for Queen's in a losing cause. The hosts jumped out to a 10-point lead after the first quarter, and only further consolidated their lead through the opening half of play. McMaster incrementally added to their lead throughout the final two quarters, and outrebounded the Gaels 42-29 en route to the victory.

Queen's, who now boast a preseason record of 6-4, will look to come out of their final weekend of preseason play with a victory on Saturday evening when they take on the Guelph Gryphons. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.

The Gaels open the regular seaosn on Saturday, November 7 at home against the York Lions.
