KINGSTON, Ont. (September 25, 2014) - Jenny Wright (Kingston, Ont.) and Liz Boag (Kingston, Ont.) led the Gaels in their first exhibition game of the season, beating St. Lawrence 69-62 Thursday evening.

Wright finished with 18 points and eight rebounds for the Gaels, while Boag netted 14 points and seven assists. Andrea Priamo (Guelph, Ont.) and Abby Dixon (North Vancouver) had strong performances under the backboard, adding 7 and 6 rebounds, respectively. Priamo also put up 12 points for Queen's.

St. Lawrence was led by Hannah Koposhynska, a former Gael, who added 15 points to their score.

It was a close game with seven lead changes. The Gaels came out of the first quarter with a 14-12 lead, but St. Lawrence turned up the heat offensively in the second quarter and left the first half leading the Gaels 28-24.

The struggle for the lead continued in the second half, but the Gaels pulled away as they left the third quarter up 45-39. The momentum followed through into the final quarter as the Gaels rounded the game off with a score of 69-62.
