KINGSTON, Ont. - The Queen's Gaels (1-0) women's soccer team bested their cross-town rival the RMC Paladins (0-1) 1-0 in their season opener Saturday night at RMC.

Tara Bartram (Vancouver, B.C.) got Queen's on the board with her first career CIS goal at the 20 minute mark. Queen's managed to hang on from there on out to preserve the 1-0 shutout.

Madison Tyrell (White Rock, B.C.) got the clean sheet on the night stopping all six RMC shots.
Next up for the Gaels is their home opener on Wenesday when they host the Carleton Ravens at 5:30pm on West Campus Turf Field. RMC will next host Ottawa on Wednesday night in Kingston.
