KINGSTON, Ont. (February 22, 2012) - The Queen's Gaels continue their playoff pushes on the hardcourt as women's basketball and both volleyball squads look to make noise in their respective postseasons. 

BASKETBALL (W) vs. Ryerson 

The Gaels kick off their playoff campaign on Wednesday when they take on the Ryerson Rams at the ARC.

The Gaels enter the playoffs with home court advantage after sweeping their final road trip of the season on a trip that brought them to Toronto to take on the York Lions and Sudbury to take on the Laurentian Lady Vees. The Gaels won both games, beating York by a 20 point margin and topping Laurentian a day later by a 64-58 score.

It was a historic weekend for Gaels basketball as Brittany Moore of Hannon, Ont., moved into second place all-time on the OUA scoring leaderboard with back to back double-digit performances. Moore had earned a tie for second place one week earlier and grabbed sole possession of second place with her performances against York and Laurentian.  Moore is the top scorer in Gaels basketball history as her 1,652 points lead both the men's and women's programs in scoring. 

VOLLEYBALL (W) at OUA Final Four

The Gaels will look to make some noise at the OUA Final Four this weekend after defeating the Brock Badgers in straight sets. OUA Award of Merit winner Natalie Gray of Oshawa, Ont., led the way for the Gaels with an 18 point performance on the strength of 15 kills on 27 attacks for a hitting percentage of .407. Becky Billings of Ottawa added 10 kills for the Gaels on 24 attacks. 

The Gaels will look for two wins at the Final Four for the right to advance to the CIS Championships.
