Gardner captures gold at Junior Fencing Championships

REPENTIGNY, Que. (July 6, 2010) – Karl Gardner of Toronto won the gold medal in the men's junior épée competition at the Canadian Junior Fencing Championships this past weekend.

Gardner defeated John Wright from Ottawa in the finals on Sunday to win his second medal of the weekend. On Saturday, he won bronze in the senior men's competition.

In the same competition, Jack Chen of Richmond Hill, Ont., finished 11th.
